My thoughts are with Rods family as this sad time. It was a pleasure working with Rod, such a gentleman who always made me laugh! I will always remember his email sign off TMwtH - The Mayor with the Hair.
It was a privilege to have Mr Fyffe as my Math teacher and BSSC. As many people have said before me, he certainly did love his Polly Waffles - it was the first thing he said when he introduced himself to the class. Once I had graduated high school, Mr Fyffe would still say hello and stop to chat in the street and he always had a huge smile on his face.
Vale Mr Fyffe.
Fyffe it's been years mate but you left a legacy. Your gentle soul and kindness was seen by all who knew you. Being 31 now was different from the days of knowing you at Bendigo senior school and around Bendigo as I grew up but thank you for being you. Rest easy and know you did well. Many thanks
Cr Fyffe knew everyone, had time for everyone and went to everything. We will miss seeing you around and your friendly chats with staff at the City.
Thanks for being a good teacher at bendigo senior secondary college and such a friendly person to talk too
Thanks, Fyfffee for being our teacher, the mayor and just a person who loved helping in general.
I will never forget every time you walked past one of my family members and remembered our names even if we hadn't seen each other in a while. and I also remember the fun times we had working together on various events including the easter festival, the Multicultural festival and more.
to the family, i felt like rod was part of our family so i feel your pain, but note that he is in a better place, pain free and jumping into pools again. he will always be in our hearts and we will never forget how much he enjoyed the community.
love from the Stubs family (Gail, Andrew, Timothy, Claire & Daniel)
Rod was truly an inspiration full of happiness that he shared with all those that came in his path.
Kind, generous and thoughtful on how he contributed to making Bendigo a community not just a place.
I remember always walking into briefing, a meeting or an event, Rod was there with a welcoming smile.
I did not know Rod very well, but the interactions I had with him showed what a wonderful man he was. Rod was full of community spirit, a sound wit and charm. He will be sadly missed. Sincere condolences to all
I had the pleasure of looking after Rod when he was in 5C at Bendigo health. An absolute gentleman and he made it easy to care for him due to his kind nature. Mr Fyffe also taught my Mum at school and whenever we saw him down the street many years ago he would always say hello and have a chat. Rest easy Rod.
Rod was my year 11 maths teacher and became a friend of my grandmother (Ann) while she was on council. I have many fond memories of Rod not only his humour in class and love of polywaffles but his support to my family when my grandfather passed. He was truly a great man.
I have fond memories of Cr Rod Fyffe OAM during my time at the Kangaroo Flat Fire Brigade. Rod Fyffe OAM was a valauble member of the Bendigo community who had an incredible passion for people with a very genuine and personable character. We all the richer for having known Rod.
